Let The Paperwork Team handle your tax filing accurately and on time
Filing a Self-Assessment tax return is complicated, time-consuming, and full of changing rules. Keeping up isn’t always easy when you have a job to do.
So why not delegate to The Paperwork Team and let us handle your tax affairs?
We’re a friendly team based in Warwickshire, supporting clients across the UK, and we will prepare and submit your tax return on your behalf, making sure nothing gets missed. Our expertise and careful attention to detail give you back your time and take away the worry of overlooking key tax reliefs and allowable expenses or making errors.
When are tax returns due?
Self-Assessment return submissions and payments made up of Income Tax, National Insurance, and student loan repayments are due by midnight on 31st January following the end of the tax year to which they relate.
For example: For the 2024/25 tax year, your return must be submitted and paid by 31st January 2026.
HMRC also ask some taxpayers to make a payment on account towards the bill for the following year. If this is relevant to you, payments are due on 31st January, along with your original tax bill, and again on 31st July in each tax year. Payments on account can be confusing, but don’t worry, we can help you with this.
Missing deadlines can lead to fines and more stress, so if you’re still not sure where you stand, let’s chat sooner rather than later. Contact us for support tailored to you!

We collate all your income and outgoings, calculate what tax you owe (or what tax refund you’re due), and let you know of any relevant expenses you may have missed.

How much does your Self-Assessment tax return service cost?
Every client comes to us with unique circumstances, so we don’t offer a one-size-fits-all price. Instead, we believe in providing customised solutions tailored to your needs and budget. We carefully assess each project’s scope and complexity, as well as your own wants and needs. That way, you know exactly what to expect and you get a transparent and competitive price that accurately reflects not just the time spent, but more importantly, the value we deliver.
What documents do I need to provide?
We’ll usually ask for records of all your untaxed income (invoices, PAYE forms, bank statements, rental income, etc.), details of your expenses, and any other information relevant to your tax situation (like pension contributions, child benefit, or any Capital Gains Tax). Of course, this list is different for everyone, so we’ll guide you through exactly what is needed when we work with you.
Remember – You should keep records throughout the year to help you file your personal tax return. We can help with this, too, with our outsourced bookkeeping services.
Will you deal with HMRC on my behalf?
Yes! We’re here to take the admin burden off your plate, and that means being your point of contact with HMRC. No more dealing with stressful communications from HMRC. Once you’ve authorised us, we’ll handle and prepare your tax return online on your behalf, keeping you updated when it matters.
Can you help if I'm already late filing?
Absolutely, and that’s when you need us most! Late filing happens more often than you might think, and the important thing is not to panic. We can help you get your return submitted quickly, understand any tax owed as well as any penalties, and correct previous years if you’ve missed more than one.
What if it's my first Self-Assessment tax return?
We work with first-time filers and new landlords to make Self-Assessment feel like a breeze. We’ll guide you through registering with HMRC, explain what you should keep track of, and help you avoid some of the common mistakes we see too often.
