About the company
The company had been using Sage desktop for all its business accounting but was finding the system cumbersome to use.
The Financial Director was struggling with the time constraints associated with trying to run the business simultaneously in the UK and in Spain and wanted a system that he could have access to on his mobile, while commuting between the two countries.
How we helped
Firstly, we transferred the data from Sage to Xero for both the previous and the current accounting years. The transfer highlighted some data inaccuracies in the Sage information, due to Xero’s capabilities to link directly to bank accounts, so once we had completed this it was easy to reconcile the existing supplier and sales accounts and both the Spanish and the English current accounts and be totally confident that the information was correct.
Where we are now.
The client uses Xero and manages his accounts himself, using us to check through VAT returns before he files them and answer any ad-hoc accounts or Xero related queries as they arise. We have also discussed the benefits of Hubdoc, Xero’s new document management system.
